James Leclaire grew up in the small town of Renfrew Ontario 45mins west of the nations capital and now resides in Manotick Ontario. His second full length album, 'Until it Passes By', was released in Sept. 2012, and his third album is scheduled to be out towards the end of June of this year.

From fist pumping, stomp your feet working-man anthems to soulful ballads of love, heartache and loss, James' songs are all about storytelling.  Intensely thought-out lyrics grind through James' raspy vocal chords with powerful emotion to produce rich, dark imagery, that can really punch you in the heart.  The experience escalates even further when backed by his band, bassist Chris McLean and drummer Michael Hunter.

Highway #9 (from “Until It Passes By”), by James Leclaire listed as one of the top Ottawa songs/bands in 2012: Enter stage left, the spirit of Steve Earle. The gravely voice, the porch-friendly beat—it makes you want to wheel the pickup out onto a hillbilly highway. -Peter Simpson, Ottawa Citizen
